Façade work is nearing completion on the Virgin Hotel at 1225 Broadway in NoMad. Designed by Stantec and developed by Lam Group, the 38-story, 476-foot-tall structure will yield 300,000 square feet with 460 hotel rooms. Sir Richard Branson of Virgin Group will be in charge of managing the property, which is the first Virgin Hotel in New York City. Aside from the complete disassembly of the exterior hoist and the start of the panels filling in the gap, much of the envelope around the crown appears to be at the same stage of progress. Meanwhile the steel podium showed some additional structure assembly. A revised completion date for the Virgin Hotels hasn’t been announced yet, though it’s safe to estimate sometime in 2021.
